Sarah Palin Wins One Vote

Sarah Palin managed to win over one voter with her VP debate perfomance. Watch in awe:

Palin did well. She managed to not look like an idiot. Fox News made her the winner. Everyone else - including Fox's own viewer poll - gave it to Biden:

CNN: Biden 51 Palin 36
CBS: Biden 46 Palin 21
Fox: Biden 61 Palin 39
Meanwhile, some brave conservatives are braving death threats by speaking out against the anointed one.

Here's Ross Douthat in the Atlantic:
"Palin is holding up a mirror to the rest of the political world, and revealing how the mix of talking points, bluster, obfuscation and BS that nearly all national politicians traffic in as a matter of course sounds when it's filtered through someone who isn't practiced in it, and isn't ready for the spotlight. Her performances reflect badly on her readiness for the vice presidency, no question - but they reflect badly on our whole compromised, spin-happy political class as well."
Conservative-for-Omama Andrew Sullivan is more brutal:
"The problem remains Palin's patent lack of even minimal competence in being governor of Alaska, let alone president of the United States - and McCain's total lack of judgment in selecting her... This is entirely about the abuse of religion as a political tool... Theology - let alone the know-nothing fundamentalist variety - does not make a good training for politics."
However, for some, McCain/Palin is still the less scary option. This from LiberalRapture:
"What we have now in Obama is still a mystery. It is intensely bothersome to me that his most ardent followers don't even know what they have. They don't know him. I'm not sure anyone does. He is a commie, or a corporatist, or a Chicago machine crook, or a Black liberation theologian, or a Great Leader (who has never lead on anything most of us care about), or a Healer (who has ruptured his own Party - 20% is still not on board.). The part of the country that did not partake of the Obama phenomenon early is now being asked to ASSUME he can accomplish a "healing" of the wounds inflicted over a generation - or more.
At least that last message is clear: "Vote for the white guy and the lady who looks like me".

Obama can still lose. McCain/Palin can still win. There's the best part of two months left of campaigning. Settle in for a long autumn...
